Florio Finishes 12th at Yale Invitational
Cranston’s Alexis Florio finished 12th at the Yale Invitational on Sunday at Yale Golf Course in Connecticut.
Florio posted a three-round total of 10-over (223) to finish 12th, two shots out of the top ten.
Allison Paik finished in a tie for 27th at 15-over par for the tournament.
As a team, Columbia finished in solo fourth, with a team score of 44-over par.
Boston College won the tournament.
Florio’s Final Round
After parring the first six holes, Florio bogeyed two of the last three to make the turn at two-over par.
She quickly got that back after birding the tenth and 11th holes to bring her score back to even.
Florio would bogey the 13th and 15th holes, before dropping a birdie putt on the 16th hole.
She would par the final two holes to fire a final round 72.
Florio climbed 12 spots in the final round.
Paik’s Final Round
In the final round, Paik bogeyed three fo the first eight holes, including back-to-back bogeys on the seventh and eighth holes.
She got one of those birdies back on the ninth hole with a birdie to make the turn at two-over.
On the back side, Paik made bogeys on 11, 13 and 15 to move to five over, before dropping a birdie putt on 16.
However, she would give that birdie right back on 17 to finish at five-over for the day.
