Patrick Welch struggled to a 70th place finish, while the #1 Oklahoma Sooners took second place at the Colonial Collegiate this week at Colonial Country Club.

The PGA Tour University rankings will be unveiled on Wednesday. It will be worth watching how this finish helps or hurts Welch.

While Welch struggled this week, Oklahoma finished second in the tournament, one shot behind first place Stanford.

Oklahoma posted a team score of two-under for the week to finish second, well ahead of rival Oklahoma State, who finished third.

The Sooners return to action on October 11 at the Big 12 Match Play Championship.

Welch’s Final Round

Welch opened his final round with three bogeys in the first five holes to immediately fall behind the eight ball.

Welch made two birdies on seven and nine to make the turn at one-over par.

However, on the back side, he could not get anything going, making all pars except for 16, in which he made a bogey.
