Justin Thomas Names Jim ‘Bones’ Mackay New Caddie

In somewhat of a surprise move, Jim ‘Bones’ Mackay is leaving his cushy job at Golf Channel and returning to the course as a full-time caddie.

Mackay will be looping full-time for PGA Tour superstar Justin Thomas, after JT parted ways with his long-time caddy Jimmy Johnson.

“Jimmy and I had an incredible run of six years together, but we have agreed to go our separate ways. I 100% did not fire hime, as Jimmy came to me after the Ryder Cup and told me he has decided to pursue other opportunities. I have nothing but respect for Jimmy and his wife Jen and I’ll always appreciate all the success and times we had together, I wish him all the best,” Thomas said in a statement.

Mackay previously caddied for Phil Mickelson, but looped for JT on a couple of occasions over the last couple of years.

According to Golf Channel, Mackay will continue to work as an on-course reporter when his schedule allows.
