Connecticut’s Nick Hedden Leads RI Mid-Am After Round 1
Connecticut National’s Nick Hedden posted a four-under par 67 to lead the Rhode Island Mid-Amateur by two shots after day one at Ledgemont Country Club.
At four-under, Heddedn leads Crestwood’s Jordan Amoriin and Kolby Simmons by two and three shots respectively.
All three of them will be in the final pairing on Tuesday afternoon.
Those three are followed closely by Swansea’s Kevin Blaser, who is one-under and Mike Hamilton, who is one-over.
Four-time RI Amateur champ Brad Valois is two-over, while 2020 RI Amateur champ Jamie Lukowicz is three-over for the tournament.
Hedden opened his round with birdies on the first two holes, and then dropped another birdie on the sixth hole to get to three-under.
He would made the turn at that score.
On the back side, Hedden dropped a shot on ten, got it back with a birdie on 12, and then gave it right back with a bogey on 13.
However, he would close the round with birdies on 16 and 18 to finish at four-under.
