Leopold Slips to 7th After Round 2 of New England Amateur
Bobby Leopold slipped to seventh place after round two of the New England Amateur on Wednesday afternoon at Great River Golf Club in Connecticut.
After posting a 66 in the first round, Leopold fired a 74 in the second round to fall down the leaderboard.
Leopold is now four under for the tournament heading into the final round.
Nashawtuc’s Xavier Marcoux leads the tournament at eight under par.
Six Rhode Islanders made the top 60 cut.
Leopold’s 2nd Round
Leopold’s round got off to a good start with a birdie on the fourth hole.
After that birdie, Leopold was in first by himself and had a two shot lead.
However, bogeys on seven and nine dropped him back, and then two more bogeys on the back nine (13, 16) pushed him further back.
Leopold ended on a positive note with a birdie on the 17th hole to shoot 74.
