Semi-Final Matches Set at RI Women’s Amateur
Just four are left standing the at the Rhode Island Women’s Amateur at Wanumetonomy as the semi-final matches are set.
The first semi-final will feature Wanumetonomy’s own Emily Brooks against Alpine’s Lauren Dohoney.
Brooks upset top-seeded Vinny Papa in the quarterfinal match, winning one up on the 18th hole after being as much as five up throughout the round.
Dohoney knocked off Kirkbrae’s Kylie Eaton on the 18th hole in a match that went back and forth throughout the day.
The second semi-final features the two and three seeds, Newport’s Addy Douglas and Gianna papa.
Douglas beat Val Blinn 5&3 in the quarterfinal, while Papa handled Meredith Norton 5&3 in her match.
The semi-final matches tee off at 7:30 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. respectively.
