Bobby Leopold Co-Leads New England Amateur After Round 1

What a couple of days it has been for Bobby Leopold.

Just a few short days after winning his third Rhode Island Amateur title, Leopold now co-leads the New England Amateur after the first round at Great River Golf Club in Connecticut.

Leopold posted a bogey-free six-under 66 in round one to find himself in a three-way tie for first place with Worcester’s Owen Quinn and Connecticut’s Cody Paladino.

Only one other Rhode Islander is inside the top five and that is Austin Cilley.

Cilley actually held the lead for a portion of the day, but ended up in a tie for fourth at three-under par.

Leopold tees off at 8:03 a.m. on Wednesday.

Cilley tees off at 1:14 p.m.
