Patrick Welch Ranked 5th Best Player in Country

Providence native and Oklahoma star Patrick Welch is ranked as the fifth best college golfer in the country, according to the latest individual rankings from Golfweek. 

Welch was ranked seventh heading into this week, but a top four finish at the Seminole Invitational helped him jump a couple of spots.

“Patrick had a really solid week from start to finish and Garett [Reband] finished his round off today in a nice fashion, which is always great to see,” said Oklahoma Head coach Ryan Hybl. 

Welch is 8-8-1 against Top 25 players, 17-23-2 against top 50, and 44-33-4 against top 100 players. 

Overall in his career, the former Classical star is 183-41-7. 

The Sooners are back in action on March 1-3 at the Cabo Collegiate at TPC San Antonio.
