U.S. Women’s Open has 1st Positive Covid Test

The U.S. Women’s Open received its first positive Covid test on Wednesday, just a day before the tournament begins.

Andrea Lee tested positive and has withdrawn from the tournament.

“Andrea is part of the USGA family, having represented the USA in several team competitions. We are disappointed to lose a player of her caliber from the field,” said USGA’s John Bodenhamer.

According to Golf Digest, she has mild symptoms and will now enter quarantine.

Ayaka Watanabe will replace her in the field.

The Tournament begins on Thursday in Houston.
