Bryant Golf Gets Commitment from MA’s Sam Hood
The Bryant University men’s golf team has received a commitment from Massachusetts native Sam Hood.
Hood signed during the NCAA’s early signing window, which lasts until August 1, 2021.
He will attend Bryant starting in the 2021-22 season.
Hood, a senior on the Sandwich High School golf team, finished tied for 3rd at the 2020 Massachusetts Amateur Public Links Championship, where he made a hole-in-one on the par-3 9th hole at Gannon Golf Course.
Hood, a member of The Ridge Club, has also played in the last three Mass Junior Amateur Championships.
Like all golf programs across the country, Bryant’s 2020 spring season was cut short due to the coronavirus.
They had gotten off to a good start too, finishing in a tie for eighth at the Lonnie Barton Invitational down in Florida.
If and when their 2021 season begins, they will return seniors Doug Champagne and Samuel Roy, as well as, juniors Luke Carroll, Tyler Hahn and Jack Prue.
Tyler Dupuis is the only freshman on the roster this year.
