Renowned Golf Photographer Leonard Kamsler Passes Away

Renowned golf photographer Leonard Kamsler has passed away, the PGA of America announced on Wednesday. 

“The PGA of America is deeply saddened by the passing of Leonard Kamsler, a pioneering photojournalist whose talented eye entertained and inspired generations of all who love the game of golf,” said PGA President Jim Richerson.

Kamsler was presented the PGA’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Photojournalism back in January of this year. 

“Leonard, the inaugural recipient of the PGA Lifetime Achievement Award in Photojournalism, was the undisputed Dean of Golf Photography. Leonard’s ability to capture signature moments and iconic portraits will forever be part of golf history. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends,” Richerson added. 

He was 85 years old.
