RI’s Andrade Remembers Celtics Legend Tommy Heinsohn
Boston Celtics legend Tommy Heinsohn passed away at the age of 86 on Tuesday afternoon.
Rhode Island Billy Andrade tweeted the following about Heinsohn:
“Tommy gave his time to so many charities and causes throughout New England including our Andrade Faxon Charities for Children! RIP Mr Celtic.”
After graduating from Holy Cross, Heinsohn played for the Celtics in the 50’s before coaching them in the 70s. Winning championships as both player and coach.
He then became a broadcaster and was inducted into the Hall of Fame as both player, coach and broadcaster.
Over the last several months, Heinsohn’s health had deteriorated and he disappeared from any of the Celtics broadcasts.
