RI Amateur Champ Lukowicz Wins Burke Memorial
Rhode Island Amateur Champion Jamie Lukowicz is back in the win column.
Lukowicz held on to win the Burke Memorial Tournament by one shot over Seamus Fennelly on Wednesday afternoon at Wanumetonomy.
Lukowicz finished the tournament at one-under par, while Fennelly finished even par for the round.
Mike Hamilton finished third with a score of six-over.
Lukowicz’s Final Round
After opening the first round with a three shot lead, Lukowicz parred the first seven holes, before bogeying the eight hole.
He then rebounded with birdies on nine and ten to get to one under on the day.
However, he struggled one the back, allowing the rest of the field to get within striking distance.
Lukowicz bogeyed 10 and 11, before birding 13.
Bogeys on 15 and a double bogey on 18 Brought him to one-under par for the tournament.
Fennelly, who was playing with Lukowicz, bogeyed 18 on Wednesday to fall just short.
A par would have tied the tournament.
