Cink Wins for 1st Time in Over 4K Days

For the first time since 2009, Stewart Cink is a winner on the PGA Tour. 

Cink won the Safeway Open with a four round score of 21-under par, edging Harry Higgs and Doc Redman, who posted 19 and 18 under par respectively.

Cink is now exempt on the PGA Tour through 2022 and also gets back into the Masters. 

Cink’s Final Round 

After saving par on the first three holes, Cink dropped birides on the fourth and fifth holes to get to two under on the day. 

Cink saved par at six and seven, before closing the front nine with birdies with eight and nine to move to four under. 

On the back nine, Cink birdied 11 before parring three straight holes. 

The 47-year-old then made birdie at 15 and 16 before bogeying 17. 

He made birdie on 18 to seal the win.
