RI’s Paik Tied for 4th at Mass Women’s Amateur
Rhode Island’s Allison Paik is in a tie for fourth after round one of the Massachusetts Amateur Championship stroke play qualifying.
Paik shot an even par 73 on Tuesday at Essex Country Club to finish in fourth and just three shots off the lead.
Paik is a member at Ledgemont Country Club, allowing her to play in the Mass Women’s Amateur.
Gabrielle Shieh is leading the way at three-under.
Paik tees off at 12:49 p.m. on Wednesday in the final round of qualifying.
Paik’s First Round
The Columbia commit got off to a great start by birding the first hole, but than made a double bogey on the second hole to give it right back.
She would add a birdie on the third hole, but then give it back on the fourth hole with a bogey.
Paik would close the front nine with a birdie on eight to make the turn at even par.
On the back nine, Paik bogeyed the 11th and 15th holes to drop to two over, before making back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18 to get back to even par.
