Rhode Island’s Allison Paik finished in third place at the New England Women’s Amateur which ended on Wednesday afternoon at North Conway Country Club in New Hampshire.
Paik shot a 5-over par 218 for the three day tournament, finishing four shots behind Megan Buck, who took home the title.
As GolfNewsRI reported earlier this summer, Paik committed to the University of Columbia to play golf after graduating from Wheeler.
Paik joined The Golf Dudes on Coalition Talk Radio later that week.
Final Round Struggle
Paik got off to a rough start, opening the final round with a double-bogey six on the first round, before making a bogey on seven to finish the front nine at three over par.
The Columbia golf commit tried to get back on track at 11 with a birdie, but would finish the round by bogeying 13 and 17 to finish five-over for the tournament.
She shot a 218 for the three rounds, finishing four shots back of Buck.
After playing even par through the first eight holes, Paik bogeyed the par-4 ninth hole to finish the opening nine at one-over.
She bounced back with a birdie on ten before making three straight bogeys from holes 14-16 to finish three-over.
Paik started the round two shots off the lead, but by the turn, she was tied for the lead with Johnson at two-over par for the tournament.
Paik then made birdie on the tenth hole to make the lead by herself, before Johnson tied it back up with a birdie on 11.
Johnson would grab sole possession of the lead when Paik made bogey on 12.
Paik would get it back with a birdie on the 15th hole, however, Johnson would finish strong with birdies on 17 and 18 to remain in first place.
