Rhode Island’s Brad Faxon will take to Instagram LIVE on Wednesday afternoon to talk about putting and the game of golf.

Faxon is arguably the best golfer to ever come out of Rhode Island and might be best known for running the CVS Charity Classic.

However, his reputation locally has taken a hit over the last couple of months after he was part of a group that bought and then sold Metacomet Golf Club after just one year. 

Faxon & Metacomet 

Faxon was part of a group of investors that included Steve Napoli, Brendan VanDeventer, Tim Fay and Karl Augenstein. 

The group bought Metacomet for a reported $2.3 million in 2019, before flipping it to Marshall Development in February. 

Marshall is planning to redevelop the property, making this season the last for the Donald Ross-designed Metacomet. 

“Marshall plans to redevelop the site into an exciting first-class mixed-use property that will bolster both commerce and community in the upper bay.  In the coming months, a vision for the property will be unveiled – a vision that will further strengthen East Providence and Rhode Island’s economy through investment, job creation and the development of a vibrant center of activity in one of the state’s top communities,” said Marshall in a statement.
